Along with the joy of becoming a new mom comes the baby blues: you feel tired, stressed, and overly emotional. Don't worry, these feelings are completely normal, and will reside in a few days or weeks.
According to BabyCenter.com, 80% of women experience the baby blues. But if you find the baby blues hard to deal with, here are five ways to beat it:
Isolating yourself at home is no way to live. Sure it's hard getting out with a baby, but try to get yourself out of the house at least once a day. Even a stroll down the block can really liven your mood.
Being intimate with your husband can be an instant mood lifter, and make you feel like your sexy self again.
Tending to a crying baby 24-7 gives you little time for yourself, and leaves you feeling down and unappreciated. Cheer yourself up with you-time -- have an at-home facial, work on your hobby...No matter what you do, just make time to focus on yourself.
Even if you have a ton of friends, they may not connect with you like they used to if they aren't moms themselves. Go out, meet other moms, and connect with them. Perhaps you will find someone to confide in, or a mentor who can teach you how to become a savvy mommy.
One reason you might experience the baby blues is because you don't have your old body back yet. It will take time, but exercising and eating healthy foods will get you there faster.
